News from Monday, August 30, 2004 @ 5:07 PM, PSTso far we have some images that were never used for other issues of dla. these include a sweet one that scott did for something halloween-related, among other things, including some scary bone drawings from ken. i think thane was thinking about something specific for the cover, something that he intended to do last year, but couldn’t because we never got around to the halloween issue we had planned. other than that, it is all wiiide open. any ideas for other content, layout, and look & feel of the thing? i was thinking about all b&w on some nice, raggish-style paper, maybe am off-white or pale-cream color? old-style? gothic fonts? cemeteries and tombstones? chilly ghouls? scary monzaz?
maybe something cut full-bleed? offsize? …

did ken get a copy of that email? isnt he running things now?
anyhow, i bought some colored tissue type paper to mock up a cover idea i had (the faux batwings). i wont go into detail until i can post a pic of it, lest you should all poopoo my idea prematurely. the other idea jeff and i talked about was a “resurrection” theme, making a container out of styrofoam (or similar) that looked like a tombstone. inside could be clippings or sketches or whatever (even a ‘zine’)… like possessions of an art-crazed ghoul.
i have a couple of sketches i could flop into the issue, too.

scott knows about the issue. he mentioned something about a goya’s monsters comic that he says is pretty much together. who knows what that means. since jeff’s not around anymore i guess that leaves me to digitize scott’s crap. i’m kind of on break from the taxi thing for a while so i’ll only see scotty if i go out of my way. do you guys have his cell number? it’s pretty much the surest way to get a hold of him. if you want, give him a call: 509-***-***. he’ll pick up anytime — day or night.
