News from Saturday, June 28, 2003 @ 6:37 PM, PSTGreetings,
I am pleased to announce that the next issue of Dead Letter Art is currently underway and slated for an early august releasE. As we finish distributing the last, more unconventional issue, we have developed the following statistical architecture for DLa nineteeN :::
:: Theme/Purpose ::
DLa 19 will be composed of two halves: a corporate-sell-out half and a noncommercial-meaty-chunkxx half. The corporate-asshole side will be nothing but fake advertizements/turdz/etc.*, while the meaty-chunkky side will be all
art/chunxx/etc*. The orientation of the two halves will be >>reversed<< in the middle of the magazine, demarcated by something poignant/absurd/whatever**.
:: Format/Content ::
DLa 19 will be printed entirely in black and white***. Standard paper/issue size, etc.. We want you to send as many adz, turdz, chunkx, clipz, etc., as possible. All those miscellaneous little biscuits and sketchz you have tucked here n there are lost no longer! Sned them in as finished ad bitz, or pass them along with ideas concerning their proper use, or just sit there and do nothing (loser). Also, we need artwork for the art half of the issue. Possibilities include comikx, writingz, drawingz, collabz, and pocketS. Get involved!
:: Deadlinez/Encouragement ::
Send your business in on or before Friday, July 25th, 2003. If you have ideas and/or submissionz, let us know as soon as possible, so we can plan shit. This issue will be distributed as heavily as financially possible throughout the basin, especially around ML and at the Meth County Fair in August. The issue will speak directly to local venues, while encompassing a
broader message involving the differences between corporate-fuckhole-bullshit and local, underground artsy-fartsy bullshit. It’s us versus them! — You decidE!
:: This information represents what we have come up with so far — you will be notified of any important changes/etc…
:: We will be meeting again this Sunday @ 7:00pm @ Somewhere in ML to discuss and further our collaborative effortZ.
:: We have several extra copies of the last issue — if you know someone who would be willing to check it out, shoot us a cold onE.
:: And, the DLa website as you have come to understand it has been dismantled. We need ideas/suggestionz for the new website, which is currently in development.
Let us begin again!

nineteeN_notez:::
* coverz::
commercial cover (think venue) will suck in all possible ways:: too busy/crowded, poor compistion, poor graphikx, dumb-ass logos, etc. This will be contrasted with the other cover:: basically a white cover with our logo on it. ‘nuuph sed.
** ideas for center pages::
what should go in the tootsie-roll centerfold?
*** ideas for color::
how to make it all fresh?

Other details to be werked during the next DLa meeting(s)..
