more to come i am sure. wtf? got your FCU info. and…? (do you mean that you received what i sent? or that you have communicated with FCU and "got" some new info? YES! what? i got what you sent and i got what FCU sent (to both of us). i will also be talking to Osseus later this week, and will let you know what is up. sweet..

firm outline in my pants of the following:

1. covers

text on cover = okay three buzz-werdz each cover as part of the logo — we should put the werd out and have everyone brainstorm for a new, official DLa logo/symbol (for covers/website/etc..?) GO!!

front panel cover only = up to artist agreed GO!!

rotation of cover = we need to come up w/ a system that does not force cover duty on persons and is also fair (equal opportunity). i suggest either a lottery or collaboration between persons wanting to do the next cover - anybody doing the last cover is excluded from doing consecutive duties.

i have already missed out on my turn to do the cover — thanks to you giving it up so readily to Nimbus. i really don’t want to lose the chance again next issue because of some random lottery event (and i really don’t want to collaborate at this point in time). thus, i say we compromise. let’s set up a cover schedule (as before) with all of us included. THEN, if one of us doesn’t want to do their cover, we could have a lottery/collaboration involving interested parties…i think it would inspire some kick-ass artwerk from some of the less inclined…

grrr… animal. Nimbus = next cover. Perishable = next next cover. remainder to be determined. do we put everybody in rotation randomly? alphabetically? purposefully? i think we should put out word also to see who WANTS to do covers in the future, and automatically exclude people who do not respond or do not want to.

2. layouts/themes

maybe this should remain open from issue to issue? you mean, as the inspiration moves us, etc..? GO!! the mechanical theme is great - but maybe we should also consider a permanent theme something more thematic than underground artwerk/etc ? i am totally open. throw down some gemstones… like a Graphic Design zine w/ how-tos, Fantasy Illustration, Science/Pulp Fiction Art & Comics…. i hadnt considered it yet - i was just thinking maybe we all have some common ground in art interests to bind it all together more solidly.

other artwork/ideas could be included in the zine thru features or thru a special something that we we can continue to develop "anthropomorphic"-type themes and stuff within each issue ..? (i am trying to give these comments an "open and conversational" tone..barnstorming ).. ?

3. tarots

lets wrap this crap up. HA! TOWER my ASS!! purr over! owww..

also - how many more? let me breq it down:

  • DLa 16: thanec - nov/dec 2002 >> Tower
  • DLa 17: suilan - jan/feb 2003 >> Star scot
  • DLa 18: osseus - mar/apr 2003 >> Moon chris
  • DLa 19: perish - may/jun 2003 >> Sun ron
  • DLa 20: thanec - jul/aug 2003 >> Judgment scot
  • DLa 21: osseus - sep/oct 2003 >> Whirled chris
  • DLa 22: suilan - nov/dec 2003 >> The Fool ron — finish!

so, it looks like tarots steady pumping thru 2003. the beauty of it is that the issue#’s now match the tarot#’s, and the set is complete just in time for the new year, a special release of the tarot deck, or just a celebration that we don’t have any more tarots to do! e-sweet-E. * (issue release date falls between the two listed months. eg, nov/dec issue mailed out around dec 1st)

we could also start doing 2 tarots each time, to wrap it up faster. also, we could include BHBW, Nimbus and FCU in the tarot cycle or pass it on to them - so that the final deck has a more DLa rounded look. (see above)

\ what is the finished planz (print?)? sounds good — at least a web deck.. website version? we could have ken make a Flash based tarot reader that flips up the cards and reads fortunez? maybe i could help with the werdz. GO!!

4. features (all of ’em!)

what features should go up? oh, you are referring to the web. i was referring to actual zine content. i would like to see the continuation and development of all of the old features (artspace/artopsy/etc..) as well as development of fresh n new regular features. and here is where i think we really can employ the hoardes that follow our lead: we can develop ideas for features that we think would be sweet for DLa, then, just like the covers or werdz or whatever, schedule people to do the dirty deeds. and, best yet, there are plenty of eager artists to choose from! GO!! list: artopsy - art space - il commentator - some kind of "stories" section .. ?

chris seemed appalled that we would put them ALL up.. now, as far as the web goes. although i would like to keep a PDF version of each issue online, i do like the idea of also turning the website into more of a feature-based job. and, it would just that. it would take time each issue to properly dish out the goodz. we don’t want the actual content of the DLA website to be half-ass when in actuality we pour over our creations — we must represent! the pros are that we have LOTS of talent available for this and PLENTY of webspace to fill! …wtf?

so do we each do our own feature space? maybe you could pick a couple and have Nimbus, BHBW help you and Osseus and i will each tackle a feature section too. the most difficult would be the comics section .. do we do it - or just put up a sample page w/ links to our individual galleries?

i say at least put up the best three of each feature. if there is only one zine wherein a type of feature appears lets wait until it builds up a presence before it pops up on the web. (see above) i would argue for as much online content as possible…the DLa digironiverse!!! as time permits….

5. new features/planz/etc..

i checked out Director - it seems a lot like flash actually.. i have only done the first tutorial though. i also checked out a CD and figured out the autoplay deal, so we are good to go on that. the Autoplay will(should) point to an .EXE file on the disc (made in Flash or Director) and this will be the menu or interface for the rest of the content. sweet!

if i find anything in director that makes it a better tool than Flash i will let you know. if this cd works out i would be totally up to providing some cd content on a regular or semi-regular basis. like, totally barbie!

let us gel once again, harness our resources, and seize our vision…

ALSO: i can’t make it to seattle Gay!! this month for the binding. weak just thought i would let you know before you spoke with "The Ruiner"!! i’m sure

also also, have you checked your calendar about the september meeting? maybe speak with special K about it and let me know what’s up. it may be tuf coordinating this one..my schedule is evenings, sundays, and mondays off.

have not heard from Osseus.. i left it up to him to contact me this week when he was ready. ha ah. ..so, i have no idea what he is doing. i will call him today and see whats up - email you tomorrow. due to xtreme size - perhaps you could succinctly remove the necessary bits from this message to forward with any like response… ? hmmmm?
