DLa #010 The Dreams issue of DLa presents an informal variety of member art, werdz, and comix. Loosely assembled and presented with inspired enthusiasm, the collective content of the Dreams issue opens with metaphorically colorful cover artwork by Sui Lan. Within the issue, delighted readers will discover a figurative utopia of black & white graphics and images representing everything from surreal landscapes to disturbing characters. Falling deeper into the Dreams issue, fellow dreamers encounter mystical dialogue along with subconscious revelations of both time and space. Beyond these visual wonders of creative inspiration await elaborate discussions of yesterday and tomorrow — enlightening tales of intrigue and adventure. Fascination manifests as Nimbus presents masterful artwork, Osseus offers poetic inspiration, and Sui Lan explores alternate realities. Then, during the slow midnight hour, ThaneC summons Tales of the Galactic Rover, while Perishable conjures up Crunch & Weasle and Eschelon. Also, the Dream issue features an exclusive Werdz Page, as well as Artopsy and Il Commentator. Plus, the issue provides "special" Contents & Splash pages, as well as Perishable's nonfictional nightmare, Meat & Potatoes. And, as an added bonus, the entire issue is printed on custom, semi-gloss white laser paper, which makes it all sweet.
…Harold studied the meatloaf. It was steaming ferociously and hot juice was squirting out of the thousands of little, breathing mouths that covered each of the loaf's four sides. Laughing, the mouths decided to play a trick on Harold. One by one, they began to swim through the chunks of animal debris, each throat swallowing the next until a giant, gaping hole in the side of the meatloaf encouraged the rest of the loaf to play along by formally pronouncing the proper names of other dinner-time items so carefully displayed there on the expensive oak dining table. "Poe-tay-toes," the undulating meat organism proclaimed in a deep, commanding voice. Harold sat silent, hoping that neither parent would notice the corruption.
