News from Monday, September 03, 2001 @ 7:28 PM, PSTThe distribution looks like it’s coming along pretty good. I thought the last issue had a nice variety to it. Like yourself, I also find myself thumbing through it finding more.
The Alice pic is something I originally created in Art School. I sent along the final image for you to see. Basically it was a photo collage of other peoples photos so I can’t take credit for all the great photos. I think I used a total of five separate images. Eventually, as you can see, we had to give the image some purpose like we were real designers working for real clients.
Not wanting to just turn it into a black and white photo (for the zine) I altered it in photoshop. I tried to give the impression that it was a drawing and not a photo. I also had in mind of something old and weathered. Exactly how I got it to look like it does I can’t tell you ’cause I can’t remember. It’s a lot of trial and error using photoshop magic. Somehow the border ended up with almost a futuristic look. Nice contrast to the rest of the image. That’s what it is: just playing around, always with a general idea in mind, but not limited to it.
