DLa #005 Wow, you know, I have been writing these issue summaries for the past several days now. Starting with the most recent issue of Dead Letter Art, DLa 22, and working backwards through the collection, I have been recalling as much as possible about each issue and its development. Although it is not too difficult to remember events and details from the most recent ten or so issues, traveling mentally further into the past becomes increasingly challenging. Sure, memories of the big events — such as the Moses Lake Special — are relatively clear, recalling events or anything circa the first five or so issues of DLa is pretty much impossible at this point, over five years after the fact. Nonetheless, I still possess copies of these older issues, and will gladly flip through the evidence and summarize the content.
Originally a themeless issue, DLa 5 surfaced as we had decided to develop each issue with a particular "theme" in mind. Although the haphazardly assembled DLa 5 was virtually complete by the time we had officially decided to employ themes, we decided to slap a "Diversity" theme on the issue after the fact. So, even though the issue is merely an interesting collection of mismatched artwork and unrelated articles, it is indeed diverse enough to theoretically warrant such a theme. Who really cares, anyway;)
So, getting to the content, the "Diversity" issue features authentic Osseus cover art, a spicy Lovers tarot card, and a crazy Werdz Page courtesy of Perishable and ThaneC. Digging deeper, we get even more diverse with exclusive art galleries from FCU, BHBW, and Kalacakra. Also, ThaneC’s Tales of the Galactic Rover makes an appearance while Sui Lan's gripping saga, The Sorrow of the Mask continues with yet another moving chapter..
