The Dragon Issue [ April/May 2001 ]

DLa 3 Cover
DLa #003
Dead Letter Art presents… DLa 3! Eventually referred to as the Dragon Issue because of the surrealistic Tiamat dragon casually adorning the cover, DLa 3 came together after the tumultuous First Annual DLa Grand Meeting. Without dipping into the hairy details, suffice it to say that jealousy, insecurity, and misunderstanding unfortunately crashed our otherwise inspiring collective gathering in the early Spring of 2001. Indeed, time spent working out the aftermath of mindless threats and smoothing over the consequences of immature behavior devoured almost an entire month. Behind schedule yet determined to move ahead, DLa made amends and refocused our collective efforts on completing the next issue. After all, it was only our third issue — to linger at this point could have prematurely ended our entire creative adventure. So we came together and produced a rather slim issue with some rather meaty contents. DLa 3 features Perishable’s custom burnt-edge cover, Somebody’s sincere Werdz Page (we are not sure who wrote it), and ThaneC’s most high Tarot card. The issue also presents the original artwork of Bleeding Heart, Freakish Carnival Utopia, Osseus and Sui Lan. A definite "must-have" for serious collectors and apathetic individuals alike.
