News from Monday, May 03, 2004 @ 9:09 PMnice work, indeed!
the time you spent was well worth it – i enjoy the additional layers of thot throughout. layout is very nice, and all the artworks are enjoyable. your writing has improved; less cryptic in general and solidly constructed. insightful. a great sendoff i think for our efforts & struggle with dla. no matter how well built ken’s issue is, its glossy shimmer will only appease those people whose attention focuses and shifts with glimmer of light from shiny objects, as the content cannot possibly be as well developed, or have the depth and good content that dla’s tombstone has.
that said -
i havent been doing much tonite.. i am finishing up a movie i have been watching for a few days, and i may get some zines folded, but i have been using the few hours i have been home to relax. probably will crash out shortly. tomorrow i get off at a more reasonable hour, and will start to polish off the zines and web stuff.
will leave it to you to set up the specifics of the meeting, i think you should email chrisp to keep things fresh and solid. steaming in the nostrils and unavoidable, as it were. i will fill in scot (if there is room) with the details and make sure he has it
on his appointment calendar.
ahhh. almost done!
the precious, dla. you must through it in the fire from whence it came!
only in the bowels of MosesHole, where it was forged, can it be destroyed!

thank you, kind sir. i am truly glad you enjoyed the issue. now let’s hope that the (few) others are so responsive… i have checked it out a little bit and i agree — i think it turned out well..
after the mad rush of last weekend, i was wiped out! finally, after doing nothing but sleeping in all free time, i am feeling back to business. in the meantime, i haven’t done a thing!
i have walkin’ news, concerning work and the move and so on, so i will save my two typing fingers the agony and discuss in person. as far as the saturday meeting goes, i will indeed email chripsy and set something down, and then send email so you can notify scott on whenzaz and wherezaz (exactly).. (i am going to shoot for saturday at 8 at bob’s — issues only!!)
i am going to calculate and email $ results after this email, so i know how much to bring on saturday…
you haven’t shown the precious to anyone, have you?!!!
remember: keep it secret — keep it safe!

the precious.. funny you should mention to keep it secret – scot wanted me to show him my copy. i turned him away. i told him that the meeting was on, but i will have to tell him when/where (i said probably 6-7 at ripple). the money thing is really only between you and me – if you dont want to pay for the HS zines, that is fine, just bust out the cold$ for your21z + scot’s deposit. maybe instead of making chris payout, we could make him buy all the food and drinks at the meeting. i just shot chirps an email: 8pm bob’s. \
will email upon reply email.
(chris should shell for his own issue..)
too funny — you turned him away! ha!
so dramatic are you with the force!
speaking of which, a dude at work brought
hardware wars, a 20-min 70′s spoof that is
pretty funny.. i just remember seeing it about
twenty years ago on mtv — so anyway..
anyway, here is the $$breakdown:
_grand total (according to receipt): $197.71, say $200 >
_minus scott’s share of $60 = $140
_minus chrip’s share of $13 = $127
the rest we can split: ~$64 /each,
for burial props, etc..
i will bring a check saturday.
cool?
thanks again for your solid dla printing efforts!
mission accomplished.

check.
hardwar wares – yeh.. i remember it being funny, but like you said – that was a looong time ago. you should also check out ThumbWars – really funny, despite the initial feeling that it seems so stupid (the dude put the movie together with thumbs as the actors, etc..) scot was actually parked in front of the house, and called me on the cel instead of even coming to the door.. funny.
