texture in ps –
that is just a rough model of what i have been doing to create most of the web stuff so far. i also use duplicate layers set at different blending modes, inverted or masked sometimes.
if you have any clues from your experiments let me know! if we keep sharing data and experimenting with styles we can expand our forces as a design team..
rise of the Empire.

i sent a v.02 jpeg for inspection –
your design really inspired me:
the title fell out, and then i added
the skelz and enlarged the images…
let me know what you think..
i will send the .psd file if you want to
develop it further, edit, or otherwise
tweak it out some more..
i like the simplicity and focus the layout
initially provided, and tried to flesh things
out while maintaining a easy aesthetic…

yes – aesthetics congealed like old blood into a beuatiful stain. shoot the page over and we can work on the navigation next..? the larger image sizes are good, the translucency i’m not sure about.. what about disguising the thumbs as something buried? another idea for the bones – maybe making them more random or breaking the image up into separate bone piles? i think it was just the symmetry was throwing me, and maybe some kind of more random or assymetrical arrangement would work better. the style and feel of the bones is perfect i think tho.

i will slice one up for nav workup next..
here the skelz are 50% less opaque..
i think your familiarity with the skel images
may be what is throwing you off —
if you want to tweak them, i can send the .psd..(?)
the thumbz weren’t meant to be transparent at all,
just less bright, to keep them from dominating the
central image..

darker skels look better, also they extend out into the body enuf that having them dark will work well with text over the top etc.

they could blur and/or instead of darker on rollover…
