_file-naming protocol
the current web collection employs prefix categorization,
differentiating between image and thumbnail, category,
collection, webpage, and chronology.
_additional images
the current collection consists of the images displayed on
the new website. in addition to those, it would be great to
archive fresh graphics, people pix, and more artwork.
._fresh graphics
for example, icons, symbols, and graphic chunks, all
pimped for the web (rez, size, etc.).
._people pix
pitshaz of dla people — choice shotz only. you know.
._more artwork
it would be sweet to have more web chunks of dla art
for online gallery rotations. having a phat stock all pimped
and uploaded will really save some time..
_online and offline
last point: we can upload and configure our individual
image archivez into a unified and streamlined collection
that can be updated as needed and downloaded
(backed up) periodically.

aye.
in addition to these protocols i would like to consider a ‘standardization’ of image files, best by category – examples:
photo art to be 320×400 pixels, cropped or resized to exact dimensions people shots are all round gif files 144x144px or 2×2 inches with transparent b/g etc.. (these are examples to illustrate point, only)
i think by imposing as many limitations/rules in the protocol as possible we can constrain the infinite possibilities of web design down to a finite set, and thus be more productive in the actual design phase. i will list out a more detailed analysis based on this proposal, and create a list of the protocols/categories for imagery that seem necessary, and we can compare notes.
