News from Sunday, September 07, 2003 @ 3:48 PMSo good! Your Opus #19 is your very best zine to date; actually it reads and appears more as a true art journal. Don’t know if that’s how you’d like to be thought of, but there it is.
By god, I think you’ve hit your stride with a syncopated rhythm that can sustain itself until you all want to do something different. # 19 is unique with its publication as a zine and yet it’s taken the concept to a level I’ve not read from the other zines @ the Portland zine convention. you’re ahead of the curve, men! essentially your zine was instructive (I.e., educational) in a cohesive milieu of humor, meditative reflection, art and good, solid written materials. Nice work, all of you!!
a few times you’ve had some clever, intelligently written pieces and somehow the rest of the zine’s creations were too different to hang together throughout the edition. This time, from the cover to the end, the whole work was strong and blended well.
you have the experience, minds, creativity and talent to be a published resource and mentoring journal for zine fans & fanatics. There’s a lot others can learn from you if you’d share it. no shit here, men!!
anyway. I wanted you all to know how exciting this work is and, unless you all are asleep in front of your monitors at this moment, I think you’ve got it ;o)
