Here’s my suggestion:

I really like the elements you’ve included. The fonts are tuff. That electrical meter is fucking cool. I like the spikes at the top, as though they’re bones from some ancient dinosaur. I intertwined the red DLa letters with this these bones to emphasize this idea. Now we see the bloody DLa beast (set at a slight angle to give it a sense of movement) rising from death as though not even that will stop it from continuing onward. The small typed out copy centered above give us a nice contrast of size; which I think gives the piece more "pizzazz". Also, the large white space surrounding the small copy helps balance the clutter at the bottom.

Question for you:

What about the red color? Stamps? Stencil? Or possibly we could construct a simple way to screen print some ink onto the cover. That would be cool.

What do you think?

2 Tuff,

Yes, I like the improvements. Unless I get a brain flash for something that might improve on it, I think it will fit tyghtly ninete.en. I think a sick mask and some cherry red krylon would werk for the color, but it would reverse the order of the image layers (i.e., red over blac). So I may play around with that. Also, the type font will be plated from Thanimal’s classic typewriter. Using such will only enhance the overall graphic format and layout, and will afford unique attributes to each issue (ink density, placement, case, etc..). We can discuss other possibilities/etc next meeting, which we should plan..

Your artistic vision is inspiring, and it is sheer joy sharing in this issue’s mysterious unfoldings…
