just to keep it real. here is a photo from nat’l geografix that i used more for an idea – as you can see, i am not bent on x-act replication. more than anything i just want to keep using them until i get used to the feel. at the very least, i have left room for improvement.

keep me posted on your own developing seed of inspiration. and kick out some of those ideas so i can mull them over before slapurday. i start work thursday – swing ships.. so i will be doing some art n crap in the mornings hopefurry.

although i have had to werk some overtime and do some other shtuff (sucking my time away), i am brewing up some clearly defined goals (or trying to, anyway), and also planning on spending some time thursday developing planz, ideaz, and property…(ha ha) YETH U THEXXY BEATHT!!! The package arrived today!!! Yay! Oh, those sweet, sweet Pigmaz! There is just tooo much shtuff in there to go off on right now, but after i have some time to absorb your influence, i will provide uh furr report!! Werrd!!!

so, lessee, um.. i went to the lie bury today for das boox — found about five relevant gemz.. one on kolor, one on acrylic painting in general, one on painting in general, one on art in general, and a sweet E morsel of tenderness on cerealism. i am planning on cranking them up this weekend, but i will have to pry them from jenz sweaty hands — i swear she will be painting like bob ross any day now.

so, as far as ideaz, i made some progress today pulling things together, but not much, i am afraid.

ideaz (as of now):

1.>> i sense a clustering and manifestation of several topicz or areaz of focus emerging:

• a. i, too, am into the font/lettering thing. it is a fertile ground ripe for the harvest, wether as solo material or as ultra-beefy embellishment for one of our other fine, fine ideaz…read on>>>
• b. art-iclez, such as for artspace/artopsy/smalltalk (each of which encompassing exclusive material). like we discussed, neighbour glorification, gook interviewz, and other commentary for further elaboration, etc..
• c. painting forum: a section of DLa devoted to chat concerning painting in various mediumz, etc..(photoz/werx/etcc.).

2.>> also, several DLa themez (for issuez) have taken hold of the firmly:

• a. drux issue: anything and everything, packaged and presented with taste and wisdom. no hype or sensationalism. unless to score pointz or something. everything everything everything all within a carefully cultivated clandestine cloak..
• b. photography issue: or employment of much more photo-material in future issuez as embellishz: let’s see, we have the various mediumz (digitar/analogue), various subject matter (anything artistic/intelligent/inspiring/etc..), and various fun.
• c. exclusively literary issue (new!): how ’bout a roundabout about literary bouts? perhaps a smack-down via the font/lettering business? steady flexin’ with some next type of motion. bootz maneuvaz

3.>> i am also into your ideaz concerning developing better defined paradigms of DLa-DLa’s various individual artistic stylez.. – go off!!

keep in mind, it’s all a matter of organizing our ideaz, developing a plan, and executing da business at han. so let us continue to develop and organize ideaz, add and subtract elements as we see fit, and werk toward some real DLa accomplishments.

.nob boss makes painting look sooo easy. motherfucker. see you in HELL NOB!!! i am still struggling with fundamentals but i must stress to you my first revelation of acrylic painting: you MUST find the proper brush! my wastoid brushes i am using are un-inspiring. the greatest pleasures of painting i have found come with the softest, most luxurious brushes. i just don’t care for the texture of the stiffies – although it was handy in quickly faking in some trees.

.this might be something for down the road a bit – i fear it would be a frightfully small section (at least for my part). that is not to say that we both do not have plenTy of opinions on this subject…

.i am all for this – i think it would be a good issue to get everybody involved in (even [FCU], if for no other reason than to have somebody totally at odds with [BHBW]. dipolarization.)

.i am not against this idea – BUT, i will say i do not think it is possible to avoid slips into visualization of our ideas. grafix. embellishments. illustrations. KABANG! it is intriguing to me tho because i think such an issue would have to be approached entirely in a different way. i know you have some recent inclination toward verbalisation of ideas through verse and such – would poetry be a possible "theme" for this exploration?

.more than that – i am talking about mostly yourself and me. i think we might be better able to help each other in this matter – just as we are more inclined to see abstract modernism (or is it abstract post-modernism?) in [BHBW], [technical skillz] in [Osseus], anime in [Sui Lan], op-art (among others) in [FCU] .. where do we stand? for that matter – where does [Nimbus] fall?? we have developed a sort of disjointed illustrative style with tendencies into naturalism(?) based on a vast history of exploration in art, artists, and visual perceptions. but have we developed any style? and if so, how can this be described articulately and understandably?

.there is one more thing to consider for future development – font.z. even if we do not do an issue specifically detailed with this adaptable element, i would like to see some creative power begin to grow within our midst as if we were the new bauhaus, or viennese insurgents. i would like to start using our own fonts in publication. every jerk-off is "designing" fonts these days, and we are just as able as any of them, if not abler. i think we should do a few collaborative fonts as well as some individual ones. as well as redefining our logo periodically, as a matter of practice.
