Got my guide 2 machines in the mail today and I had to comment. First off, it is quite a trip to recieve a DLA in the mail, I mean very inspiring and cool. I was stoked when I ripped open the package. It was like christmas all over again. Interesting…
Anyhoos, upon opening, I got to peruse, and it was a de-lite! Sweet! [Nimbus] did an awesome job on the cover, I especially like the white splattering in the letters. I will pass it on to him.. Then upon flipping through the pages, I was very pleased with the job you guys did on layout/book design. Thank you. I haven’t actually sat down and read through the whole thing, but on first perusal, I do believe it is one of the best put together zines DLA has done. Just stop it!! I don’t know if I agree with you there, but it did take a long time to craft it just so.. I assume you had most to do with the makeup of the issue, so Kude’s to you [Perishable], you did an awesome job. Nice to hear — thanks again! I am glad you like it. In all fairness however, I believe that the issue would have been much meatier if you and [88teeth] had influenced it more — it is a presence sorely missing, me thinks. Anyway, the issue is still ok, and we all look forward to future DLa issuez!
Just wanted to let you know you did well, and happy new year and all. Likewize, a Most Prosperous New Year to You and [Sui Lan] as well. I be doin me art, so I will be sendin stuff soon. Do ya aht. Uh, [88teeth] mentioned a certain style that you intended stuff to be, pen and ink that is, is that for the cover, or insides or both or what? Or is he just screwing with me again? First of all, [88teeth] is alwayz screwing with you (and me, and everybody). Second, I have a pretty solid vision for how I want this particular one-month issue to turn out. Briefly, that involves a low-key, stress-free layout and presentation, lots of meaty, blacknwhite-inky collabz, and few werdz if any. That is the jystt of itt. So the cover will be in blacknwhite, but you are free to kick down a killer gass massk in whatever medium/style you desire (as long as the submitted rez is decent).
I think [88teeth] said something about burning your stuff onto a diskk with some sophtware for [Nimbus] or something. Please burn as many collabz as you wish, and I will choose what fits with this particular DLa manifestation…(perhaps any of our unused collabz — and there will be PLENTY — can be used somewhere down the road..)..
