the special use of a semi colan

DLa News News from Wednesday, January 01, 2003 @ 6:08 PM

so what’s really going on?

hello there, mr. [Perishable]. it’s nice to be writing to you… especially since i have no particular reason to. just thought, since i had been sitting around most of this new-years-day-after-noon looking out into a snow filled slushy mess of a field and accumulated ponds offset by grey cloudz……thought i’d let you know that you came accross my thinking process a few times today; especially since i had a chance to really delve into your latest dla thrill.

i had a nice weekend past. thanks.

before i forget… HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! – so glad to be here.

cle0patra… coming at ya……your dla thing was nice. you and [Nimbus] and [BHBW] (probably not) did a stand up job. i aplaude ya’ll for such a bang up job. bang, the mother-fuckin’-world!!! it was packed full o’ sweet stories about fathers (and thanks for the little wordz about my dads death in the back-bottom section of the book…memoriez…uh, huh), even more words about other things, and aut (you must be smaut). damn, nigga…all were the equivalent of e-what? sweet ass! keep up the good work over there fellaz…oh, yeah…keep keeping it real on the inside.

have fun with the next issue and those that will follow.

…w…

[FCU], you need to actually learn how to use a semicolon, and how to spell it…

Anywayz, thanks for the kind werdz about DLa. I’m not sure about what you meant by "really delve", but I am sure it is alright. If you wanted more words about your dad in the last issue, you really should have done something for him — you did, after all, realize the opportunity…

As far as DLa goes, for that matter, it seems as if you will never ever actually get involved at a serious level. Although this is regrettable, it is not an entirely unique attitude, for many from the hole have saddened the collective art journey with their utter complacency, apathy, and indifference. And that is the reason for the latest two emails concerning DLa. I was trying to convey these points without sounding too abrasive.

Lately I have been less concerned with how others perceive my actions.

But DLa is bigger than any one of us, and so will continue along a much different path…
— little, yellow, … different.

I hope this email doesn’t upset you as much as the last one did. I am only trying to communicate what is on my mind — nothing more, nothing less. I can’t be any more real than that. And, I guess if you are a bit upset, that is fine, maybe even good for you. On the other hand, if what I say or do upsets you to such a degree that you feel no reason to pursue our friendship, then at least that is more real than merely telling each other what we want to hear, passing pleasantries and nitpicking small talk.

Let us move forward as adults, yet without abandoning past lifetimes..

every iceberg is afire
