if there is a good time for me to head over and visit you chumps let me know. i am thinking a weekend, and possibly hanging out most of a day or overnight. if monday or friday is better than a weekend for whatever reason i can do that too.

i envision a good deal of hang time, as well as some kind of drawing session – maybe some life drawing at a cafe, the scablands, fruitstand, etc.. or a tricked out painting slam with watercolors. ..?

let me know in more detail what you have in mind for re-birthing dla. also, what does everybody else over there think of dla right now? and have you heard from ken at all in my absence (i am guessing not)??

if you are leaning toward a more "artistic" direction will that exclude such art as the schrags’, being purely graphic design and commercial, school-based? or do you mean to change the presentation of the artwork and thereby influence the
contributions of the membas?

also, i am at a great disadvantage to where you, and crew, are at with your art endeavours – as i have not seen any of your recent (most recent) forays into the realms of creativity. i am supposing that seeing the next issue of the zine will provide some important and necessary clues to keep me up to date with the pack.

i was just reading an interesting article on the web about art optics, and an art theory proposed by David Hockney [and some physicists] that van Eyck and Ingres and some other artists used a method of projection to accomplish their fine renderings. I am of the mind that a person of some vision and refined skills can produce very lifelike and remarkable works with only their "eye" to guide them. (also the evidence didnt seem very convincing, and also more concerned with the physics of artistic reproduction and ignoring other relevant social and historical factors that influence art.)

anyhow – see for yourself:
