News from Friday, August 09, 2002 @ 5:44 AM[88teeth], [Osseus], [Sui Lan],
After much deliberation, I have arrived at several conclusions regarding my newly created DLA web pages. Please do not take offense at my comments, I am merely trying to state my case and/or reasoning.
As everyone should know, I recently spent approximately 30 hours of my time (within a one-week period) devoted to the creation of new DLA webpages. Also working 50 hours during that week [in Hell], plus spending too little time with my loving family, as well as minimum time sleeping, shitting, and eating, pretty much tells you how I spent my time (every second of it) during last week. The result? Nine new pages of DLA web content (among other things).
[88teeth] sent a useful review (and I am planning on improving certain problem areas). I am still waiting for [Osseus]’ opinion. I will address [88teeth]’s concerns first, and then comment to [Osseus].
[88teeth], I understand that you want a pure HTML version of the website. Personally, I have no such preference. But, I do know that I created my pages with DLA in mind (and at heart), with precious time and thoughtful care. This is why I cannot allow you to "recreate" my work in HTML. Although you would surely do a great job, I consider even digital creations to be unique works of art — an expression of the artist — that simply cannot be replicated. The art I have done for the DLA website was inspired, expressed, and published of my own personal volition and will. It is not what everybody wants, but it is art.
However, to accomodate your pure-HTML website request, I am completely willing (and ready) to completely remove my new pages from our DLA website in order for different, all-HTML pages to replace them. I am sorry, but that is the best I can do, as I surely will not spend more time with DLA webpages. I know for a fact that each of you can view the new flash pages. That was the point. I really couldn’t care less about people I don’t know who don’t have flash capacities. My work is for me — not them. "They" can f*ck off or enjoy the show — it really doesn’t matter to me…

Now, [Osseus]. I appreciate how hard you must be working on the new DLA content. But, for reasons outlined above, please do not "borrow" the words that I have created within my webpages for use in any of your webpages. I labored and poured over those words for a majority of the time spent on my pages. They were inspired, in part, by the very backgrounds, images, and font styles (etc..) that accompany them. That is, they are a single, unified artistic expression (as surely you can understand), and may not be taken out of context. This means that you must (as must [88teeth]) accept and use my webpages as they are, or create your own from scratch. {{Please understand that I am merely explaining myself here and NOT attacking you personally.}} I hope that you understand. This is very important to me.

Thank you all for your time and attention. I look forward to moving beyond these issues and starting fresh on new content and ideas, and look forward to not dealing with this in Ellensburg when everyone is present (and surely, we need not confuse [Nimbus] and [BHBW] with something they are not involved in — yet). So, please comment now, or forever hold your pieces…
